WHO WE ARE

Hope you will join us!

Heritage Quilters of Huntsville is an informal group with a keen interest in quilting. We hope you will find time to visit with us and, perhaps, join us. Regardless of whether you are a beginner or professional quilter, the guild welcomes you. We learn from each other and challenge ourselves to improve our skills. Quilting offers so many avenues for expression, a lifetime is not enough. So, we share many lifetimes and a broad spectrum of experience. Please feel free to visit with us and see for yourself.

We are part of a community

Our love of quilting and the community extends beyond meetings and workshops. Our members make and distribute Community Quilts to various social service organizations. We support Harris House, Veterans Home and Huntsville Hospital Neo-natal unit through our members' volunteer work. We demonstrate the quilting arts in a variety of activities including a quilt show every other year. In short, we share with all our love of the quilting arts and the wonderful effect a little time, caring, and attention can have on people's lives.

Our History

Heritage Quilters of Huntsville was formed on June 18, 1987. Our charter year began with 88 active members. Current charter members are listed in our Directory with an asterisk (*) next to their names. We are now over 200 members strong and growing. The Guild has members who represent all skill levels of quilting from the beginner to the highly skilled quilter.

Our Purpose

As a not-for-profit organization, our purpose is to stimulate an interest in quilts, promote and advance the art of quilt making, conduct educational programs, and share skills with one another in the design and techniques of quilt making. Membership is open to anyone that enjoys quilting.

Our Executive Board

Our guild is run by a Board that is made up of hard-working executive board and committee chair members. The names and phone numbers of the board members may be found in the newsletter and in the front of the Directory. These members work diligently to maintain and support a guild membership of approximately 200+ quilters.
